Proposed Initiatives

Transportation Services for Medical Appointments

$75,000 to establish a subsidized transportation program to assist seniors and other community members in accessing medical appointments. This program will include:
Partnerships with local transportation services.
A volunteer driver program with mileage reimbursement.
Scheduling support to ensure timely and efficient service.

Mental Health Resources

$100,000 to enhance mental health services, focusing on both seniors and youth. This initiative will involve:
Collaborating with local mental health organizations to provide workshops and counseling sessions.
Establishing a part-time mental health professional available at community centers.
Creating peer support groups for seniors and youth to foster connection and resilience.

Outdoor Sports and Recreational Spaces

$75,000 in developing and upgrading outdoor sports and recreational facilities to promote physical activity and community interaction. Specific projects include:
Building a multi-purpose sports field suitable for soccer, baseball, and other activities.
Installing outdoor fitness equipment tailored to seniors’ needs.
Creating safe and well-lit walking and biking trails.

Promote Inclusivity and Equity

Ensure all areas of the community, particularly underserved groups, have access to resources and opportunities, such as organized sport or employment initiatives.

Encourage Sustainable Growth and Energy Resiliency

Back projects that focus on environmental, economic, and social sustainability, such as interactive programs run by schools or events hosted by not-for-profits.

Foster Community Cohesion

Fund initiatives that bring people together, promote local culture, and strengthen the community spirit, such as local fairs or community gatherings.

Develop Health and Safety

Boost training, education and other local activities that lead to community safety and wellness, such as training at a local Volunteer Fire Department or financial literacy courses for seniors.

Who is Eligible?

To be considered for funding, projects must meet the following criteria:

Directly benefit residents of the communities they serve
Demonstrate community support through partnerships or public engagement.
Have a clear plan for sustainability and measurable outcomes.
Address one or more of the key areas: infrastructure, youth, sustainability, culture, wellness, or economic growth.
